The Path from Homelessness to Self-Sufficiency

Services & Care

  • Shelter

Brevard Rescue Mission is a 12-24 month transitional housing program committed to provide shelter and invest in the personal and professional development of homeless mothers with children.

    LEARN MORE

Much more than homeless shelters, our homes are designed to provide a safe, structured, long-term residential environment where families receive individualized care plans based on their specific needs. Our “Casa Carol” apartment complex in Melbourne houses nine families and “Julia’s House,” a group-home setting in Rockledge, houses three families.

In 2018, First Baptist Melbourne will be collaborating with BRM to open a new “Treehouse” facility. The church is allowing us to use this 5,000+sf Melbourne home, which will enable us to expand our program capacity by 50% and serve an additional six families.

  • Counseling

Each homeless mother we serve is assigned a personal Case Manager to walk alongside her through this transitional process.

    LEARN MORE

The transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency is achieved through five-stages: Stabilize, Strategy, Strengthen, Send Forth and Support. Each homeless mother we serve is assigned a personal Case Manager to walk alongside her through this transitional process. Through one-on-one counseling, we assist with housing, access to health care, transportation, education, nutrition, job training and life skills in a safe, residential setting.
